The topic of Lucija Klauž’s light installation is language as a tool of communication. It is a set-up of various, concurrently placed palindromes, sentences that preserve their original meaning no matter which direction you read from. These combinations of words and sentences that seem to have nothing in common except for their palindrome structure, disclose moments when language bounces back into itself and – through its own anomalies – displays its limitations and coincidental nature.
LUCIJA KLAUŽ (1999) is a visual artist and a 3rd year student at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (University of Ljubljana). Since 2020, she’s writing reviews for Radio Študent’s Desk for culture and humanistic studies. She’s transcribing, printing and translating, exploring different meanings we create when we transmit words, sentences or whole texts into new environments and contexts. In 2022 she was chosen to participate in the Young Master Program of the Interference festival in Tunisia.
