The car as its own means of transport, with its corresponding infrastructure, has fundamentally changed the face of our cities and entire landscapes in a bit more than a century since its invention. Our own means of transport greatly affect our mobility, but also bring some negative effects, such as excessive pollution… The car is definitely a symbol of social and technological transformation — but what happens when it itself becomes an object of a unique artistic transformation? The answer to this question lies in the new installation by Andrej Štular, who built a replica of a car from waste materials and, with the help of the students of The Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, University of Ljubljana, transformed it into a facility where we can watch a series of multi-channel video projections. These are new video and animated works by the students, majoring in Video, animation and new media, which thematise various aspects of the central theme of the festival.
