The
contribution of students of the 3rd year
of Cathedra of visual communication at the Academy
of design at this year’s festival is a response to
the placement of light installations. The students
are considering Weibel’s starting points in regard
to the art of light, while at the same time taking
into account the concepts of aesthetization and
conceptualization by Srečo Dragan, the pioneer of
video and new media. The projects are diverse,
authentic and include experience in reviewing some
of the global examples of artistic objects and
creators of those installations. The research of
light and image in motion and spatial positioning is
intertwined with experience of a work in progress
and project conception of the artifact –
installation during the process of work. Students
are constructing their own concept of content and
their own authors’ style through the analysis of the
work and formal positioning of the project, which
reflects the quality of their work.
