It’s a light & choreography based spatial installation about exploration and experiment where the choreographer (Madeleine Karlsson) meets the visual artist (Aleksandra Stratimirović). The northern landscape is carved into space, painted in motion with no straight lines and in a harmony of light and darkness. Participating at the project are dancers Stina Ahlberg (SE) and Kaja Lorenci (SI), while the music was composed by Frank Bretschneider, Frank Bretschneider, Daniel Hakamäki and Taylor Deupree. Costuems were made by Bric-a-brac. MADELEINE KARLSSON is a dancer and a choreographer. She’s graduated at the Academy of ballet in Stockholm and continued her studies in New York at the Trisha Brown School, in the Merce Cunningham studio, Susan Klein Studio and at the College of Dance in Stockholm. She’s engaged in exploration of motion in theory and practice. The main themes of her work are intimacy, emotionality and physical sensations. She’s created many 'site specific' performances, works from the field of improvisational and physical theatre and collaborated with artists from different artistic fields as well (designers of light, choreographers, visuals artists, directors, poets, musicians and so on). She’s teaching contemporary dance and improvisation/composition at the department of modern dance at the Royal Swedish Balletschool in Stockholm. She’s realized her solo debut ISHI (Stage Studio 4, Stockholm) in 2008. Her latest performance (august 2011, Danscentrum Stockholm) is an exploration of the physical and psychological space. KAJA LORENCI is a dancer and a choreographer. She’s graduated in 2006 at the SEAD. She’s performed her debut called Appearances in 2007 in Salzburg (New faces New dances festival), then in Vienna, at Platforma in Maribor and at the Plesni Teater Ljubljana. Since then she’s been collaborating with many dance artists and teaching contemporary dance technique, the art of motion and the motion workshop at the Umetniška gimnazija Ljubljana (Art College Ljubljana). STINA AHLBERG KUDO has graduated at the Academy of ballet in Gothenburg. She’s continued her study of the dance in New York at the Merce Cunningham dance studio. She’s also cooperated with Brenda Daniels Dance co., E.L.D Co./Efva Lilja, Ce Dans/Camilla Ekelöf ... Satoshi Kudo and Stina create their own performances, where she performs as well.
