Exhibitions Lighting Detectives is a representative exhibition of the Transnational Lighting Detectives association, an offspring of the Japanese The Lighting Detectives, established in 1990 by Kaoru Mende, one of the leading light designers in Japan. The mission of the lighting detectives is exploration of lighting environments in the cities in the past and present, and transmitting investigation results to the public. The association includes both experts in the field of lighting and students and housewives. 1.700 registered members receive a quarterly e-newsletter. A World Lighting Journey is an exhibition of nocturnal city landscapes from all over the world; it is one of the projects of the Transnational Lighting Detectives. A nocturnal city landscape is a reflection of regional culture. The Lighting Detectives have investigated almost 60 cities. Their results were recorded in 2004 in a bilingual edition of Transnational Lighting Detectives in which 19 cities were presented, along with their night cityscape and lighting arrangements in some of the living places in selected cities. The exhibition includes photography’s of the nocturnal city landscapes in 44 cities of South and North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Performance |
